The true apostle must become all things to all men in order to save all and, like his Divine Redeemer, must feel his heart moved to pity on seeing the wandering crowds, like sheep without a shepherd. By efficacious written propaganda, by the exhortation of the spoken word, by helping directly, he should dedicate himself to bettering the economic condition of his people within the limits of justice and truth. He should favor and promote those institutions which tend to this end, especially those which have the scope of properly disciplining the people against the encroaching predominance of Socialism and which save them simultaneously from economic ruin and from moral and religious disaster.    -POPE SAINT PIUS X
