This is all a very certain sign that the love the Holy Spirit has poured into your soul is not lifeless but very alert. Your longings, in the content of a humility that comes from a modest opinion of yourself, cannot in any way come from demonic deception. Your desire to be free of enemies who want you to transgress and often God and your desire to avoid the occasions that test your faithfulness absolutely rule out that this is a strategy of the enemy. He does not have and, therefore, cannot engender such sentiments."
